(Castries,Friday, 15 May 2020) The Eastern Caribbean Alliance for Diversity and Equality Inc. (ECADE) will launch a Trainer’s Manual for Inclusion and Diversity in the Caribbean, as we celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOTB). The event, in collaboration with the Kaleidoscope Trust's Equality and Justice Alliance (EJA), takes place via the Zoom platform on May 17, 2020. The launch of this manual is no more appropriate than at this time, when the effects of discrimination, violence and active neglect of marginalised communities are startlingly evident. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people in the Caribbean are among those made more vulnerable by COVID-19, as are persons with disabilities (PWD) and people living with HIV (PLHIV). ECADE and Butterfly Barbados team up to empower trans and non-binary people

ECADE, on Wednesday May 20, 2020, officially presented “A Legal Gap Analysis of Laws Affecting the Right to Mental Health for Girls, Women and LGBT+ People in the Eastern Caribbean” by Richie Maitland.
This paper is part of a larger project by the Kaleidoscope Trust's Equality and Justice Alliance (EJA) and ECADE, to identify and reform discriminatory laws in select countries in the eastern Caribbean. The project was commissioned by the mental health and wellbeing working group led by the SweetWater Foundation and ECADE.

May 28, 2020 saw the launch of research on the latest research paper coming out of the Kaleidoscope Trust's Equality and Justice Alliance project. The research, in collaboration with the Women and Development Unit (WAND) of the University of the West Indies Open Campus, was authored by Anika Gray and Taitu Heron.
